Meta Partners with GelSight and Wonik Robotics to Develop Advanced Tactile Sensors for AI

Meta is joining forces with GelSight and Wonik Robotics to create cutting-edge tactile sensors designed to improve AI’s interaction with the physical environment. This collaboration focuses on the development of a new product known as Digit 360. This tactile fingertip sensor is equipped with sophisticated sensing capabilities and is anticipated to hit the market next year.

In addition to Digit 360, Meta and Wonik Robotics are also working on an upgraded version of the Allegro Hand. This robotic hand will be integrated with the newly developed tactile sensors. The enhanced Allegro Hand is also expected to be available for purchase next year, further advancing the capabilities of AI in physical interactions.
