Astra’s Contract with the Defense Innovation Unit

Astra, a company located in California, has recently entered into a contract with the Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) of the U.S. military. The contract is worth up to $44 million and is focused on enhancing and expanding the production capabilities of Astra’s Rocket 4. This rocket is a tactically responsive launch system, and the primary aim of the contract is to reach the prototype objective of launching Rocket 4 to orbit or suborbit from various locations, such as the U.S. and Australia.
