Nvidia CEO Admits Design Flaw in Blackwell AI Chips

In a recent statement, Nvidia’s CEO, Jensen Huang, admitted to a design flaw in their Blackwell AI chips that led to low production yields. Huang took full responsibility for the issue on behalf of Nvidia and detailed how their Taiwanese manufacturing partner, TSMC, played a crucial role in rectifying the problem.

Huang explained that the flaw was an internal oversight within Nvidia’s design team and assured that measures have been taken to prevent such issues in the future. He also highlighted TSMC’s contribution to overcoming the production challenges, which helped accelerate the manufacturing process and improve the yield of the Blackwell AI chips.

This collaboration between Nvidia and TSMC demonstrates the importance of strong partnerships in the tech industry, especially when addressing complex manufacturing and design hurdles.
