U.S. Deploys THAAD Missile Defense System to Israel

The Pentagon has recently declared its decision to deploy the Terminal High-Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) missile defense system, accompanied by U.S. military personnel, to Israel. This strategic move, directed by U.S. President Joe Biden and authorized by Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, aims to strengthen Israel’s air defense capabilities. This decision comes in the wake of recent significant attacks from Iran on April 13 and October 1, which have raised concerns about regional security and stability.
