Luminous Comet Spotted by SOHO

The SOHO (Solar and Heliospheric Observatory), a collaborative project between the European Space Agency (ESA) and NASA, has recently spotted a luminous comet, designated as Comet Tsuchinshan-ATLAS (C/2023 A3). This comet, first detected in early 2023, has quickly risen to prominence as the second-brightest comet ever recorded by SOHO in its almost three-decade-long history. From October 11th, skywatchers in the Northern Hemisphere will have the opportunity to observe this celestial spectacle. Initially, it will appear low in the western sky during twilight, but it will ascend progressively higher as the weekend progresses.
